QUT's CareerCon 2026
Creativity, digital literacy, and AI fluency are fast becoming the currency of employability, and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) collaborated with Adobe to make sure this year’s QUT CareerCon students left with all three. The three-day event was structured around a clear journey of discovery, action, and networking, with Adobe adding value at every step.
Amongst the highlights of the impressive agenda, students worked directly with Adobe in a hands-on workshop to build their own digital career portfolios in Adobe Express. As they created these rich artefacts showcasing their skills and experience, they developed creativity and digital literacy through design, applied AI skills, sharpened their reflective practice by identifying and articulating their own strengths, and improved their storytelling skills as they wove everything together into a compelling, authentic narrative for future employers. The digital portfolio template also introduced students to Adobe’s accredited digital badging program, a series of short courses designed to help students and career seekers further demonstrate their accomplishments and get noticed.
On the final day of the event, a bespoke CareerCon + Adobe Express Bingo card activity turned exploration into play, prompting students to discover creative tools while making genuine connections with industry exhibitors.
The result? Students walked away with practical, in-demand capabilities and a portfolio to prove it — setting them apart from the pack in a crowded graduate job market. For QUT and Adobe, it's proof that meaningful industry collaboration can turn career readiness into a real, demonstrable advantage for the next generation of talent.

Join Charmaine and Matteo to see how this approach has been used to teach immunology, replacing a standard slide deck with student-made animated explainers. Great for anyone looking to add motion, character, and narration to their teaching materials, presentations, or projects.
