Meet the Creativity MVPs: Adobe’s First-Ever Creative Campus Innovators

Across higher education globally, institutions are reimagining how to prepare students for a digital-first world. As part of that movement, Adobe is proud to recognize the inaugural Adobe Creative Campus Innovators — nine standout universities selected by Adobe that are leading the way in engaging students deeply with Adobe’s creativity, productivity, and AI tools across disciplines.

These innovators go beyond integrating Adobe tools. They are setting new standards for engaging students through inclusive, scalable programs that foster creative confidence, career readiness, and standout visual portfolios that showcase the skills employers need. The programs these institutions have pioneered are leading to better grades and driving higher student retention.

Let’s meet the first-ever Adobe Creative Campus Innovators.

Bath Spa University (BSU) (UK) Delivering on their strategy to nurture professionally creative graduates, BSU has embedded Adobe tools right across academic and administrative departments and into the curriculum through the institution's Adobe Creative Advocates program. This year BSU will be extending this program to meet the needs of the changing assessment landscape with the introduction of authentic assessment advocates — who will focus on developing curriculum, methodologies and practice that will engage with more students and programs across the institution. Additionally, BSU will connect into the community through Juno House, a student-led agency where learners will deliver pro bono design and Adobe Express training to charities — gaining experience while advancing digital fluency and community engagement.

Indiana University (USA) is tackling student success head-on by redesigning high-DFW (drop, fail, withdraw) courses through its Transformative Educator program, which integrates Adobe tools to boost engagement and digital literacy. Building on the momentum of its Digital Gardener Initiative, a system-wide digital literacy effort, the university aims to reach more than 7,000 students in two years with creative, equity-centered learning experiences that improve retention and career readiness.

Montana State University (USA) is cultivating campus-wide digital literacy through faculty grants, student-led workshops, and the ePortfolios@MSU initiative led by the Digital Literacy Integration Team. Those programs reach hundreds of learners across disciplines each semester. With ongoing research, peer enablement, and creative advocacy, the university integrates Adobe tools into authentic academic practice and enables students to build expressive, career-ready portfolios.

RMIT University (Australia) is redefining digital education through its Adobe Creative Campus ecosystem, which includes 24 curriculum-integrated projects and a vibrant Adobe Hub supporting more than 20,000 students. Its standout initiatives — like the Indigenous Cultural Safety course and Future of Work Festival — demonstrate a bold commitment to inclusive, creative, and future-ready learning.

San Diego State University (USA) is advancing ethical, creative GenAI fluency through its Academic Applications of AI microcredential and a new Adobe GenAI module, empowering more than 1,200 learners with responsible AI skills and digital storytelling tools. By integrating Adobe Express into its First Year Seminar Life Tree project, SDSU engages 4,000+ students annually in reflective, career-connected learning that builds confidence, community, and workforce-ready portfolios.

Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) is building a university-wide framework in which every graduate will be given the opportunity to be a tech fluent pioneer, credentialed alongside every degree. Leveraging international partnerships and institution led initiatives like the RISE program, a curriculum renewal methodology and a forthcoming on-campus Educational Innovation Lab for experimentation, innovation, and capability building with cutting-edge technologies, Swinburne is shaping a scalable model for Creative Campuses worldwide.

University of Texas at San Antonio (USA) is equipping students with in-demand creative and digital skills through a growing microcredential program that emphasizes real-world applications like generative AI, video editing, and social media marketing. With awarded credentials, the initiative allows students across disciplines to build career-ready portfolios and showcase their skills through digital badges and certificates.

University of Utah (USA) is helping students build career-ready skills through Adobe microcredentials focused on teaching creative skills like podcasting, social media design, and generative AI. With more than 1,000 credentials awarded and real-world applications like the Social Impact Challenge, students are gaining both digital fluency and meaningful experiences that translate directly to the workforce.

Winston-Salem State University (USA) is transforming digital education through initiatives like the Digital Rams Across Campus program and its bustling Media Production Lab, which have engaged more than 1,600 students and significantly boosted classroom participation. As the first Historically Black College and University recognized as an Adobe Creative Campus Innovator, WSSU blends data-driven impact with creative empowerment to prepare students for success in a digital-first world.
