Education Industry Results From The May 2025 Thought Leadership Paper, “Unlocking GenAI’s Potential”

Generative AI (genAI) is transforming higher education by streamlining operations, tackling time-intensive tasks, and enhancing learning experiences at scale. This technology is helping institutions deliver faster, more efficient responses to diverse stakeholder needs, including from students, staff, and faculty, while improving accessibility and equity by streamlining text summarization and knowledge management. However, challenges like security, employee readiness, and ethical implementation remain critical, as trust and accuracy are essential for maintaining the integrity of educational processes and outcomes.

 

In February 2025, Adobe commissioned Forrester Consulting to evaluate genAI in the workforce. To explore this topic, Forrester conducted an online survey with 537 respondents and five interviews with leaders responsible for their organization’s AI strategy. This paper focuses on the 101 global respondents in that study who are in the higher education industry — specifically IT, legal, and compliance leaders — to understand the practical ways in which higher education institutions are approaching and adopting genAI
